What is this? — About the Trick-Run Builder

A free planning tool for competitive barefoot waterski trick runs. Build your two passes exactly as you'd ski them and see the score a judge would award, computed live under the World Barefoot Council Technical Rules (2026 Edition) — so you can experiment with trick order, variants, and risk before you ever hit the water.

How to use it: pick a start trick for each pass (dock/tower bonuses are available on pass 1), then add tricks in the order you'll perform them. The score and rule warnings update with every change. Your run saves automatically in this browser.

Full point tables — every pass trick, start trick, and bonus from the rulebook (§712(A), §602, §713).
Automatic basic & reverse — the first time you do a trick it's the basic; do it again in a valid position and it's credited as the reverse. "+ Add trick" even pre-fills the reverse for you, including 180/540 positional-turn chains.
Rule checking — repeated tricks (no credit / one-foot downgrades), forward-vs-backward position tracking, per-round caps (6 surface multiples, 4 step-over multiples, 3 somersaults), rope-on-neck/teeth series order, and bonus double-credit — each warning cites the rule.
"What if I miss it?" — untick any trick to take it out of the score and see exactly what landing it would add, including knock-on effects like a lost reverse.
Reorder freely — move tricks up and down and watch credits, reverses, and warnings recompute instantly.

This tool assumes every declared trick is executed successfully — execution-quality rules (falls, timing, re-plants) are still the judges' call. See "What this tool does & doesn't check" in the score panel.

What this tool does & doesn't check

Checked automatically: point values (§712(A)/§602/§713(A)), stance continuity, repeats & one-foot→two-foot downgrades (§712(C)), basic/reverse pairing incl. the 180/540 positional-turn mechanic (§709, §802–803), turn-direction alternation, per-round caps (6 surface multiples / 4 step-over multiples / 3 somersaults), rope-on-neck/teeth series order (§801(F)/(G)), bonus stacking & double-credit (§713), start-repeat downgrades (§602).

Assumed, not checked (execution-quality rules — the tool assumes every declared trick was landed as declared): loss of BSP & recoveries (§706), failed-trick reattempts (§707), the 15-second clock (§708), precursory-trick invalidation (§711 except (D)(3), which raises a warning), execution downgrades (§715), one-attempt-for-credit (§716), failed-start handling (§601(C)/§602(B)).

Known rulebook gap: the Wake 180 Step-Over Front-to-Back is defined in §810(D)(4) but has no point value in §712(A) — it can't be declared here, pending a WBC report.
